Although I've always believed that the government was a necessary evil, I had a hard time believing 1984 would come true in my lifetime. I read that book in 1981, at the young age of 12, and have had a bag ready to go ever since. Couple that with a Father who is a Baptist minister, and devoted every Sunday night sermon to The Revelation, for about six months when I was 13-14 years of age, and well........ you know, I have an interesting perspective of the events of the last 25 years. "May you live in interesting times" was not meant as a blessing by those that used it, and these are interesting times indeed. Take the RFID chip the obamacare law mandates we recieve, starting in March 2013. Whether you believe it's the mark of the beast, or a draconian government, trying to implement a total control measure, it's wrong, and violates a number of your rights as a free person. I'm curious why this was not given any coverage by Mittens during the election campaign. I feel the placing of an RFID chip in my body is A TOUCH more unconstitutional than the individual mandate most of them were harping about. Why would the reps in DC hardly give any lip service to this glaringly unconstitutional control issue? Simple, they're either in on it, they don't want to lose their place at the trough, or they are cowards that don't deserve the title of "Representative". Let's see, "in on it", that's easy, TREASON, a hanging offense. "Don't want to lose their place at the trough" that's just plain greed, which would be TREASON, same rope. "Cowards" I don't know that I would hang a coward, but they would be publicly whipped, and branded on the forehead with that title.
Other control issues the Gov wants to push and is considering. Well, I already commented on this, and now The Powers That Be are entertaining this draconian feces. Let me be blunt, the fact that William Presson, Chief Inspector of the United States Marshals Service, , Col. Kevin Benson of the Army's University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies, and Jennifer Weber, a Civil War expert at the University of Kansas, are given any audience at all should scare the hell out of you. This recent story by an NSA whistleblower says alot about the state of THE STATE, and how TPTB feel about us, you know, THE ZOMBIES. What, you didn't know the government spent money on a first responder exercise that had zombies? Ok, here's the deal, you're either for freedom, or you're not. If your a lazy bastard who wants to be given everything and will do whatever your told by TPTB to keep getting it, you deserve what you get. I truely feel sorry for you, there are worse things than dying. I believed the gun control issue was going to be the "Crossing of the rubicon" for the government, causing a revolt. I now believe the RFID Chip plan from obamacare will be that event, if the country doesn't go into a state of chaos from economic conditions or a false flag event prior to it.
The people of this country are going to have to make a decision concerning these control measures. Either you take what they require, or you resist it. If you plan on resisting, you better have a plan, and that plan better include what your gonna do AFTER you make your stand against tyranny. Do you know how to defeat FLIR, what about drones? Don't plan on goin' to the house of anyone you converse with on your cellphone, or any social network (FB, Twitter, Myspace), the gov knows who you know, what do you think the Fusion Centers are for? Do you have friends that will put you up in their basement, no questions asked, if necessary, and they're not on the cell/social media network? Since they already control the internet, don't plan on contacting anyone that way, when it gets bad. It will be like Egypt right now.
As for me, I WON'T TAKE IT!!!! If the government and it's representatives try to force this violation upon me or mine, they will recieve an invasive chip of their own, the only question is, what the weight of that chip will be.

Bring It On!!!!!!!!
4 Nov. 2012
So the last two weekends on vacation were great, but back to work. So the election is right around the corner in two days. We've had a major storm that has turned some of the east coast into thunderdome, and the Bengazi incident has come to the forefront, proving that BooHOo is not only incompetent, but criminally negligent, and the lying jackass, we all knew he was. So now, on top of the multiple state emergency issues, we have a nationally televised exceter of oral flatulance, spewing his vitriolic hatred in the form of a political endorsement/threat though "comedy". To this I say, "BRING IT ON!" I'm not even voting for romney, I loath him almost as much as BooHOo, but if these racist pieces of feces think they can threaten conservatives any longer, they've got another thing coming. Go ahead, do it and see what happens, but keep something in mind, it's easier to defend a position than to attack it. 'Nuff said.

This is the land where justice wins. This is the land where liberty dwells. This is the land where freedom reigns. This is the land where we help the poor, and people help each other. The Federal Reserve is wrong. They have designed a system based off of greed and fear. They designed a system to crush the middle class between taxes and inflation. This is wrong, and it is unjust. It is wrong.
We have allowed ourselves to be deceived and seduced by the powers of the printing press. It is not a good system. It discourages saving: the foundation for all stable economic activity. The Federal Reserve is artificially manipulating interest rates and creating phony economic data.
This thing has deceived our entire nation.
They created it in 1913. They also created the income tax in 1913. They encouraged the growth of debt so they can tax you on it. There is interest on the debt. Your government is in bed with these people. They want to enslave you to the government so that they can control every aspect of your lives. It is an empire based on lies. They operate of greed and fear.
There is a better way. It’s called freedom. Freedom is called a lot of things. But there is a true meaning. It means very simply that you have the right to do whatever you want as long as you are not infringing on the freedoms of other people.
I firmly believe that God set

Force is not the way because liberty is a powerful concept. The idea that men can govern themselves is the basis for every just form of government.
We can govern ourselves. We do not need to be governed by men who want to install a one world banking system. These men have machine hearts. Machine and unnatural hearts.
They have blocked out the possibility of a better world. They fear human progress. They have monopolies on everything.
This life can be free and beautiful. There are enough resources on this earth to support the world’s population. There are enough resources on this earth to feed everyone. There is enough land for everyone to own their own land and farm, and produce their own energy.
These people have been hiding technology. There are ways to create power easily. There is technology that can provide free cheap power for everyone. There are farming techniques that can feed the entire world.

Guess what Feds, you better clear your calendars, cuz your gonna be busy for a long, loooooong time, if you think this type of thing is something that is arrest (but not charge) worthy. You wanna know what the best part is…….drum roll please………….They didn’t charge him with anything, and after a week of doctors threatening to brainwash him
“A psychiatrist came in and closed the door, pulled a chair up in front of him and said, "OK buddy, I’m going to brainwash you… You listen to me and you do what I ask or I’m going to brainwash you or force medication on you.'"

VIOLATION OF HIS CIVIL LIBERTIES!!!!!!!!!!! That’s the understatement of the year. I guess I should worry now, since my posts on this blog aren’t exactly Gov friendly, but every time these SOB’s do this, they put that much more distance between US, and THEM, and when THEY get further away from US, and forget who they’re workin’ for, they become the enemy of the constitution, and an enemy of US.

Paul Ryan, and the Impending Grey State
August 12, 2012
So now I guess we’re
saved, because a non conservative presidential candidate picked a conservative
VP running mate (Paul Ryan). I don’t think we are, and here’s why. Name one VP who held a
President’s feet to the fire on any issue in history while he was a VP.
Usually, the VP candidate has to tow the Presidential candidate’s line, or they
don’t get selected to be the VP. Case in point, George Bush Sr’s change on his pro abortion
stance to run with Reagan. Ol’ Romney picked someone he figured would light
some fires, and Ryan will. In the end, it’s a show that won’t do anything
but slow down the 100 mph locomotive by about 5 mph. Remember. Romney has
already banned guns, and gave BooHOo the template for Obamacare. Romney is the
grandfather of the biggest freedom smashing bill in history.
Do you want a
picture of coming attractions? I think this movie trailer and "About the movie" segment says it all. This goes hand in hand with the real life events in NY. Speaking of movie trailers, have you seen the new Red Dawn Trailer? Imagine that, the Koreans are invading. I guess ” the powers that be”
decided it was bad form to make the ones writing the checks (Chinese) out to be
the bad guys, so they had to change the whole movie over to a Korean instead of
a Chinese enemy, which was the original premise.
I see that The Washington Times has picked up the story I commented on, on the 5th about a
coming civil war, and how the Army would be needed to handle the coming attractions. I’m glad to
see they were as outraged as I was, and as the Times said
“ A professor at the Joint Forces
Staff College
was relieved of duty in June for uttering the heresy that the United States
is at war with Islam. The Obama administration contended the professor had to
be relieved because what he was teaching was not U.S. policy. Because there is no
disclaimer attached to the Small Wars piece, it is fair to ask, at least in Col. Benson’s
case, whether his views reflect official policy regarding the use of U.S.
military force against American citizens.”
Guess we’ll have to wait and see what the BooHOo admin has
to say about it. What do you wanna bet it will be “no comment” or “We’re
considering it”. You know as well as I do, they would NEVER rule it out.

T.E.A. Party Terrorists?
August 5, 2012
“A
high-profile and vocal minority has directed the public’s fear and frustration
at nonwhites and immigrants. After almost ten years of race-baiting and
immigrant-bashing by right-wing demagogues, nearly one in five Americans
reports being vehemently opposed to immigration, legal or illegal, and even
U.S.-born nonwhites have become occasional targets for mobs of angry whites. ”
That sure doesn’t sound like they’re trying to put right
wing and racist in the same pigeon hole, does it? Then there’s this.
“In May
2016 an extremist militia motivated by the goals of the “tea party” movement
takes over the government of Darlington ,
South Carolina , occupying City
Hall, disbanding the city council, and placing the mayor under house arrest. Activists
remove the chief of police and either disarm local police and county sheriff
departments or discourage them from interfering. In truth, this is hardly
necessary. Many law enforcement officials already are sympathetic to the tea
party’s agenda, know many of the people involved, and have made clear they will
not challenge the takeover. The militia members are organized and have a
relatively well thought-out plan of action.”
Unfortunately,
the second quote came right after the first in the article in question, so we
can accurately surmise, that the problem of which they speak in the first quote
is directly associated with the militia/ tea party they talk about in the
second quote. Yep, the “Damn Clingers” are at it again. A pompous retarded,
oops I mean retired Army “Think Tank” Colonel brainstorms with an “I Love the
Civil War and Lincoln” female historian, and comes up with this particular scenario,
pretty interesting huh?. I guess someone who loves Lincoln
would chomp at the bit to make a similar modern day scenario, which uses Lincoln ’s precedent as
the “right way to handle these matters”. I wonder why they didn’t use racist Black Panthers in Philadelphia PA , or Extremist Muslims in Dearborn Michigan
as their enemy example, it would be more realistic.
I find it funny
that this quote from Lincoln
wasn’t used in this article
"The government,
with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they
shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their
constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember
or overthrow it." Abraham Lincoln”
, kind of would have ruined the mood I guess.
I
hate to tell both the esteemed Ph.D of MW3, and the civil war buff, but they’re
not taking into account the grunt factor. Whether the feds ignore the Posse Comitatus
Act or not, if they think that a majority of any US military unit
will partake in this scenario on the side of the Gov, they got another thing comin’.
Most soldiers are not gonna stand for it, especially the special troops. The
fact that these so called enemy combatants have gotten to this point, kinda
sends a message. Kinda sounds like Athens Tenn in 1946, they didn’t take
any bullshit either..
I know, it was just
the idea of some old retarded, I mean retired Col , and it had nothing to do with the mindset
of the administration of BooHOo. If you believe that, I heard about some ocean front
property that just went up for sale in Ohio ,
CHEAP!

Of Guns, Dogs, Cars, and Spoons
July 28, 2012
Why is it, that
when certain types bad events happen, the object used in the bad event gets the
blame instead of the person responsible? Morons like to say If we ban guns, we
won’t have the senseless violence that we have now, Bullshit!! Do you honestly
believe criminals will comply with these laws? The reason they are criminals,
is their lack of compliance with society’s laws. I guess you believe they won’t
have convenient access to firearms, right? Does the term “Fast and Furious” come to
mind? Yup, if there is no alternative, BooHOo will provide them to the
criminals.
So I guess when a
dog is raised to be vicious, it’s not the fault of the owner, it’s due to the
dog’s (insert what ever breed you want here Pitbull, Rottweiller, Chow) genetic
makeup, right? And if we take the genetic question a step further, if a certain
racial or ethnic group of people tends to commit violent or criminal acts more than other
groups, should they be kept out of a country like some dog breeds are in other countries or states? Of course not!
I guess it’s a
good thing for some that this is not applied to something like alcohol. Alcohol
(beer, liquor), generally speaking, has no socially redeeming value, and the
ingestion of it causes impaired judgment by the one doing the ingesting. This
impairment leads to the death of thousands every year, but you don’t hear
people clamoring for the banning of alcohol. Nope, all we hear is a cry for
harsher penalties for the one committing the act, as it should be.
Then we’ve got
cars. Can you tell me what earthly reason you need a car that does 120 mph for?
Generally speaking, speed limits in most states don’t exceed 75 mph. What? You can
go 120 mph on the track, well guess what, I can shoot 100 rounds of ammo on the
range as fast as I can pull the trigger, and have just as much fun doin’ it as
you do in the car, on the track. Do the range and track both fall under the definition of
sporting purpose?
Yup, the spoon is
what made (Insert obese politician, media personality, or actor here) fat, right? I guess Mrs.
BooHOo, or NYC mayor Bloomberg is going to take care of that injustice, by banning eating
utensils to those who are obese, right? Nope, I got a feelin’ those fat POS
will find a way to eat without a spoon, just like James “The Joker” Holmes
would have found a way to kill and injure dozens of people, whether he had
access to guns or not.

One Man, One Gun
July 22, 2012
Yup, that’s all
it would have taken. One man (or woman), with the discipline to carry every
day, and possessing the intestinal fortitude to take the shot when necessary is
all it would have taken. Of course Colorado
has a problem with situations like this (Columbine), so is it safe to say
that it must be a Colorado
thing more than a gun thing? I think not, this isn't the only place that bans the legal carry of a handgun. According to Sipsey Street, this was one of the
typical “Disarmament Zones” so prevalent in our society, (schools are another)
so of course this coward would pick it as a target. Predators go for the weak,
not the strong, they go for the young or old, not those that are better able to
fight back. This kind of predator is the
reason you practice body armor drills in your training regimen.
Of course the
media, and their handlers (Socicommuprogessivists) all call for stronger gun laws,
but I believe people are finally starting to get it as this piece points out.
Then we have the group that wants to bash everything about the country, abusing
one of the bill of rights, while calling for another to be abolished and use
this incident as an example. To The Brady Bunch, Bill Maher and all the other
flatulent ass breathers, I say, “I agree, YOU PEOPLE should not have a gun.” Btw,
Alvie asks some very good questions in his latest.

Revolution or Restoration?
July 9, 2012
Well, it appears we’re in the middle of a revolution right now. Read the definitions of revolution again, the present administration has been, and is in the process of A, B, C, and D right now. If you don’t believe me, you’re the proverbial “ostrich with your head in the sand”. As I’ve said, we need a RESTORATION. We have the framework already in place, we just need to return to what made the US of A a shining example to the world. Don’t give me that crap about the Constitution supporting slavery, blah, blah, blah. We could say we traded one atrocity for another, it does not condone slavery anymore, but the SCROTUS says it condones abortion. Huh, imagine that. What we need are Representatives that represent, Judges that don’t legislate, and an Executive that enforces only what he is allowed, by law, to enforce. Don’t even get me goin’ on the bureaucrats. Read the Bill Of Rights. These weren’t written, to say, “This is what we’re gonna let you have.” The BOR was written to state what the founders knew were unalienable (incapable of being alienated, surrendered, or transferred) rights. These bastards are destroying the BOR’s more and more everyday! And whether it’s Communist, Socialist, Progressive or whatever label you wanna put on them, it all comes down to them being an enemy of the Constitution and Americans as a group. Have you read the Patriot Act, NDAA 2012, THE AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE ACT! it’s gotta stop, or we are finished as a country. Most of us that took "The Oath" were serious when we took it, I hope we don't have to prove it!

“Revolution” I
hear this term used all the time in the Patriot community. We don’t need a
revolution, we need a “Restoration”. Let me start by defining the two. Merriam-Webster’s
Dictionary defines Revolution as: A: a sudden, radical, or complete change B: a
fundamental change in political organization; especially: the
overthrow or renunciation of one government or ruler and the substitution of
another by the governed C: activity or movement designed to effect fundamental
changes in the socioeconomic situation D: a
fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something E: a change of paradigm
While Restoration is: A bringing back to a
former position or condition.Well, it appears we’re in the middle of a revolution right now. Read the definitions of revolution again, the present administration has been, and is in the process of A, B, C, and D right now. "SCROTUS"
July 8, 2012
SCOTUS
To characterize the Supreme Court as some great upholder of the rule of law in spite of it being a pillar in the state apparatus is insulting to any decent person that has a basic understanding of justice. In lieu of the upholding of the Affordable Care Act, it's now worth asking what the U.S. government can't do to Americans.
James Miller at mises.ca
But imposition of a tax nonetheless leaves an individual with a lawful choice to do or not do a certain act, so long as he is willing to pay a tax levied on that choice.
Justice Roberts at supremecourt.gov/opinions
The Obamacare decision has revealed the Supreme Court for the fraud it is. They bound and gagged the Constitution long ago, embezzled its authority and now speak for it rather than from it. It's a Medieval priesthood overawing the citizenry with imagined infallibility, but at ground level these cocktail-circuit Big Thinkers enable and shield DC's most conspicuous assaults on the rightful liberty of the people.
The deciding vote was cast by Chief Justice Roberts, a Bush appointee whose confirmation Obama opposed, which shows DC as it really is, an evil carnival of political chameleons imposing their dark fantasies on the rest of us, corrupt and convoluted beyond even its own understanding, a brittle and bankrupt fear-machine clanking from crisis to crisis, sniffing for advantage. DC is run largely off the books by psychopaths and the irretrievably compromised and they mean to make outsiders of us, with all the rights of uninvited spectators.
DC believes the people adore its captor, and some do. They're the Kapos of our time. They think it right and proper to ask DC's permission to be free. They believe permits and licenses are the same as liberty, meaning one man is compelled to get consent from another to live his life, or even to protect his life. They think it right we travel only by DC's leave, that DC choose our food and our neighbors, that DC decide how much of our earnings we're entitled to, that DC can rightfully demean and dismiss our opinions. They think it right we're surveilled, bullied, and bribed with our own money. They think it right we're lied to, swindled and slandered.
Others believe DC is a criminal enterprise in the sense of being outside the law, and thereby lawless, that elections merely sanction palace machinations, that every police-state decree was proposed and passed by our "representatives" and signed off by the court, that DC is where liberty goes to be abused and strangled, in short, that DC has become fundamentally illegitimate and the fix must be equally fundamental. Supreme Court Representing Obama’s Tyrannical United States
My acronym for "The Supremes", no, not the singing group.
This is how I will refer to them from now on. Seems fitting, considering the recent ruling.
When Do You "Take Up Arms"?
July 7, 2012
July 6, 1775
Written by Thomas Jefferson and Colonel John Dickinson
A declaration by the representatives of the united colonies of North America, now met in Congress atPhiladelphia ,
setting forth the causes and necessity of their taking up arms.
If it was possible for men, who exercise their reason to believe, that the divine Author of our existence intended a part of the human race to hold an absolute property in, and an unbounded power over others, marked out by his infinite goodness and wisdom, as the objects of a legal domination never rightfully resistible, however severe and oppressive, the inhabitants of these colonies might at least require from the parliament of Great-Britain some evidence, thatthis dreadful authority over them, has been granted to that body. But a reverance for our Creator, principles of humanity, and the dictates of common sense, must convince all those who reflect upon the subject, that government was instituted to promote the welfare of mankind, and ought to be administered for the attainment of that end. The legislature of Great-Britain, however, stimulated by an inordinate passion for a power not only unjustifiable, but which they know to be peculiarly reprobated by the very constitution of that kingdom, and desparate of success in any mode of contest, where regard should be had to truth, law, or right, have at length, deserting those, attempted to effect their cruel and impolitic purpose of enslaving these colonies by violence, and have thereby rendered it necessary for us to close with their last appeal from reason to arms. Yet, however blinded that assembly may be, by their intemperate rage for unlimited domination, so to sight justice and the opinion of mankind, we esteem ourselves bound by obligations of respect to the rest of the world, to make known the justice of our cause. Our forefathers, inhabitants of theisland
of Great-Britain , left
their native land, to seek on these shores a residence for civil and religious
freedom. At the expense of their blood, at the hazard of their fortunes,
without the least charge to the country from which they removed, by unceasing
labour, and an unconquerable spirit, they effected settlements in the distant
and unhospitable wilds of America, then filled with numerous and warlike
barbarians. -- Societies or governments, vested with perfect legislatures, were
formed under charters from the crown, and an harmonious intercourse was
established between the colonies and the kingdom from which they derived their
origin. The mutual benefits of this union became in a short time so
extraordinary, as to excite astonishment. It is universally confessed, that the
amazing increase of the wealth, strength, and navigation of the realm, arose
from this source; and the minister, who so wisely and successfully directed the
measures of Great-Britain in the late war, publicly declared, that these
colonies enabled her to triumph over her enemies. --Towards the conclusion of
that war, it pleased our sovereign to make a change in his counsels. -- From
that fatal movement, the affairs of the British empire
began to fall into confusion, and gradually sliding from the summit of glorious
prosperity, to which they had been advanced by the virtues and abilities of one
man, are at length distracted by the convulsions, that now shake it to its
deepest foundations. -- The new ministry finding the brave foes of Britain,
though frequently defeated, yet still contending, took up the unfortunate idea
of granting them a hasty peace, and then subduing her faithful friends.
These colonies were judged to be in such a state, as to present victories without bloodshed, and all the easy emoluments of statuteable plunder. -- The uninterrupted tenor of their peaceable and respectful behaviour from the beginning of colonization, their dutiful, zealous, and useful services during the war, though so recently and amply acknowledged in the most honourable manner by his majesty, by the late king, and by parliament, could not save them from the meditated innovations. -- Parliament was influenced to adopt the pernicious project, and assuming a new power over them, have in the course of eleven years, given such decisive specimens of the spirit and consequences attending this power, as to leave no doubt concerning the effects of acquiescence under it. They have undertaken to give and grant our money without our consent, though we have ever exercised an exclusive right to dispose of our own property; statutes have been passed for extending the jurisdiction of courts of admiralty and vice-admiralty beyond their ancient limits; for depriving us of the accustomed and inestimable privilege of trial by jury, in cases affecting both life and property; for suspending the legislature of one of the colonies; for interdicting all commerce to the capital of another; and for altering fundamentally the form of government established by charter, and secured by acts of its own legislature solemnly confirmed by the crown; for exempting the "murderers" of colonists from legal trial, and in effect, from punishment; for erecting in a neighbouring province, acquired by the joint arms of Great-Britain and America, a despotism dangerous to our very existence; and for quartering soldiers upon the colonists in time of profound peace. It has also been resolved in parliament, that colonists charged with committing certain offences, shall be transported toEngland to be tried. But why should
we enumerate our injuries in detail? By one statute it is declared, that
parliament can "of right make laws to bind us in all cases
whatsoever." What is to defend us against so enormous, so unlimited a
power? Not a single man of those who assume it, is chosen by us; or is subject
to our control or influence; but, on the contrary, they are all of them exempt
from the operation of such laws, and an American revenue, if not diverted from
the ostensible purposes for which it is raised, would actually lighten their
own burdens in proportion, as they increase ours. We saw the misery to which
such despotism would reduce us. We for ten years incessantly and ineffectually
besieged the throne as supplicants; we reasoned, we remonstrated with
parliament, in the most mild and decent language.
Administration sensible that we should regard these oppressive measures as freemen ought to do, sent over fleets and armies to enforce them. The indignation of the Americans was roused, it is true; but it was the indignation of a virtuous, loyal, and affectionate people. A Congress of delegates from the United Colonies was assembled atPhiladelphia ,
on the fifth day of last September. We resolved again to offer an humble and
dutiful petition to the King, and also addressed our fellow-subjects of
Great-Britain. We have pursued every temperate, every respectful measure; we
have even proceeded to break off our commercial intercourse with our
fellow-subjects, as the last peaceable admonition, that our attachment to no
nation upon earth should supplant our attachment to liberty. -- This, we
flattered ourselves, was the ultimate step of the controversy: but subsequent
events have shewn, how vain was this hope of finding moderation in our enemies.
Several threatening expressions against the colonies were inserted in his majesty's speech; our petition, tho' we were told it was a decent one, and that his majesty had been pleased to receive it graciously, and to promise laying it before his parliament, was huddled into both houses among a bundle of American papers, and there neglected. The lords and commons in their address, in the month of February, said, that "a rebellion at that time actually existed within the province of Massachusetts-Bay; and that those concerned with it, had been countenanced and encouraged by unlawful combinations and engagements, entered into by his majesty's subjects in several of the other colonies; and therefore they besought his majesty, that he would take the most effectual measures to inforce due obediance to the laws and authority of the supreme legislature." -- Soon after, the commercial intercourse of whole colonies, with foreign countries, and with each other, was cut off by an act of parliament; by another several of them were intirely prohibited from the fisheries in the seas near their coasts, on which they always depended for their sustenance; and large reinforcements of ships and troops were immediately sent over to general Gage.
Fruitless were all the entreaties, arguments, and eloquence of an illustrious band of the most distinguished peers, and commoners, who nobly and strenuously asserted the justice of our cause, to stay, or even to mitigate the heedless fury with which these accumulated and unexampled outrages were hurried on. -- equally fruitless was the interference of the city ofLondon ,
of Bristol , and
many other respectable towns in our favor. Parliament adopted an insidious
manoeuvre calculated to divide us, to establish a perpetual auction of
taxations where colony should bid against colony, all of them uninformed what
ransom would redeem their lives; and thus to extort from us, at the point of
the bayonet, the unknown sums that should be sufficient to gratify, if possible
to gratify, ministerial rapacity, with the miserable indulgence left to us of
raising, in our own mode, the prescribed tribute. What terms more rigid and
humiliating could have been dictated by remorseless victors to conquered
enemies? in our circumstances to accept them, would be to deserve them.
Soon after the intelligence of these proceedings arrived on this continent, general Gage, who in the course of the last year had taken possession of the town of Boston, in the province of Massachusetts-Bay, and still occupied it a garrison, on the 19th day of April, sent out from that place a large detachment of his army, who made an unprovoked assault on the inhabitants of the said province, at the town of Lexington, as appears by the affidavits of a great number of persons, some of whom were officers and soldiers of that detachment, murdered eight of the inhabitants, and wounded many others. From thence the troops proceeded in warlike array to the town ofConcord , where they set upon another party of
the inhabitants of the same province, killing several and wounding more, until
compelled to retreat by the country people suddenly assembled to repel this
cruel aggression. Hostilities, thus commenced by the British troops, have been
since prosecuted by them without regard to faith or reputation. -- The
inhabitants of Boston being confined within that town by the general their
governor, and having, in order to procure their dismission, entered into a
treaty with him, it was stipulated that the said inhabitants having deposited
their arms with their own magistrate, should have liberty to depart, taking
with them their other effects. They accordingly delivered up their arms, but in
open violation of honour, in defiance of the obligation of treaties, which even
savage nations esteemed sacred, the governor ordered the arms deposited as
aforesaid, that they might be preserved for their owners, to be seized by a
body of soldiers; detained the greatest part of the inhabitants in the town,
and compelled the few who were permitted to retire, to leave their most
valuable effects behind.
By this perfidy wives are separated from their husbands, children from their parents, the aged and the sick from their relations and friends, who wish to attend and comfort them; and those who have been used to live in plenty and even elegance, are reduced to deplorable distress.
The general, further emulating his ministerial masters, by a proclamation bearing date on the 12th day of June, after venting the grossest falsehoods and calumnies against the good people of these colonies, proceeds to "declare them all, either by name or description, to be rebels and traitors, to supercede the course of the common law, and instead thereof to publish and order the use and exercise of the law martial." -- His troops have butchered our countrymen, have wantonly burnt Charlestown, besides a considerable number of houses in other places; our ships and vessels are seized; the necessary supplies of provisions are intercepted, and he is exerting his utmost power to spread destruction and devastation around him.
We have rceived certain intelligence, that general Carleton, the governor ofCanada , is
instigating the people of that province and the Indians to fall upon us; and we
have but too much reason to apprehend, that schemes have been formed to excite
domestic enemies against us. In brief, a part of these colonies now feel, and
all of them are sure of feeling, as far as the vengeance of administration can
inflict them, the complicated calamities of fire, sword and famine. We
are reduced to the alternative of chusing an unconditional submission to the
tyranny of irritated ministers, or resistance by force. -- The latter is our
choice. -- We have counted the cost of this contest, and find nothing so
dreadful as voluntary slavery. -- Honour, justice, and humanity, forbid us
tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors,
and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us. We cannot
endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that
wretchedness which inevitably awaits them, if we basely entail hereditary
bondage upon them.
Our cause is just. Our union is perfect. Our internal resources are great, and, if necessary, foreign assistance is undoubtedly attainable. -- We gratefully acknowledge, as signal instances of the Divine favour towards us, that his Providence would not permit us to be called into this severe controversy, until we were grown up to our present strength, had been previously exercised in warlike operation, and possessed of the means of defending ourselves. With hearts fortified with these animating reflections, we most solemnly, before God and the world, declare, that, exerting the utmost energy of those powers, which our beneficent Creator hath graciously bestowed upon us, the arms we have been compelled by our enemies to assume, we will, in defiance of every hazard, with unabating firmness and perseverence, employ for the preservation of our liberties; being with one mind resolved to die freemen rather than to live slaves.
Lest this declaration should disquiet the minds of our friends and fellow-subjects in any part of the empire, we assure them that we mean not to dissolve that union which has so long and so happily subsisted between us, and which we sincerely wish to see restored. -- Necessity has not yet driven us into that desperate measure, or induced us to excite any other nation to war against them. -- We have not raised armies with ambitious designs of separating from Great-Britain, and establishing independent states. We fight not for glory or for conquest. We exhibit to mankind the remarkable spectacle of a people attacked by unprovoked enemies, without any imputation or even suspicion of offence. They boast of their privileges and civilization, and yet proffer no milder conditions than servitude or death.
In our own native land, in defence of the freedom that is our birthright, and which we ever enjoyed till the late violation of it -- for the protection of our property, acquired solely by the honest industry of our fore-fathers and ourselves, against violence actually offered, we have taken up arms. We shall lay them down when hostilities shall cease on the part of the aggressors, and all danger of their being renewed shall be removed, and not before.
With an humble confidence in the mercies of the supreme and impartial Judge and Ruler of the Universe, we most devoutly implore his divine goodness to protect us happily through this great conflict, to dispose our adversaries to reconciliation on reasonable terms, and thereby to relieve the empire from the calamities of civil war.

"Betrayed"
Once again Sowell nails it,
Betrayal is hard to take, whether in our personal lives or in the political life of the nation. Yet there are people in Washington -- too often, Republicans -- who start living in the Beltway atmosphere, and start forgetting those hundreds of millions of Americans beyond the Beltway who trusted them to do right by them, to use their wisdom instead of their cleverness.
President Bush 41 epitomized these betrayals when he broke his "read my lips, no new taxes" pledge. He paid the price when he quickly went from high approval ratings as president to someone defeated for reelection by a little known governor from Arkansas.
Chief Justice John Roberts need fear no such fate because he has lifetime tenure on the Supreme Court. But conscience can be a more implacable and inescapable punisher -- and should be.
As usual, Mike V at Sipsey Street Irregulars brings this to our attention.

"INDEPENDENCE"
So here we are,
Independence Day. How “Independent” are you feelin’ right now, since the SCOTUS
announcement on Thursday? I was feelin’ a little sick to my stomach, actually.
1) I’m sick of people elected “by the
people” who apparently don’t have a clue what it means to be a “Representative”.
2) I’m sick of courts legislating from the bench, when their only job is to
define the legitimacy of the laws in question, using the Constitution as the
guide. 3) I’m sick of courts, who don’t understand what responsibilities and rights jurors have, when passing judgment on a
defendant. 4) I’m sick of those in authority thinking they can bully citizens
with less knowledge of the law, due to the citizen’s lack of knowledge
concerning that law. 5) I’m sick of DAMN BUREAUCRATS making rules which have
the force of law, but they’ve never been elected to a DAMN THING!!!! 6) I’m sick
of being accused of being a racist (this guy is right on the money), because the
moron I’m talking to at the time doesn’t have a valid argument, so they pull
out the race card, because we happen to be
talking about minorities. And 7) I’m sick of having someone occupy the white house, who
apparently is the biggest liar Kenya has ever produced, and that the liar in question,
has done, and is doing as much as possible to destroy what this country stands
for, and make it impossible to fix (through peaceful means), once he’s done.
Now, what I am
thankful for. 1) Family and friends, this can not be overemphasized, because in
the end, family and friends are what all this is about, right? 2) I am thankful
for people that are willing to go in harms way, for people they don’t know.
This applies to the military, police, firefighters/EMS, and any other group
that stands on “The Wall” protecting those who cannot, or WILL NOT, protect
themselves. Those who abuse the power given to them (police officers, or govt. agents), do not fall into this group, because they would be abusers of that power, no matter what position they held. 3) I am thankful for being born in a country that, even though it
has its problems, is still the greatest nation on earth. 4) I am thankful for
the Constitution of the United States. I still hold
the oath I took to protect the Constitution as sacred, and, if necessary, I will
give my life to that ends. Speaking of the Constitution, I do not need some law
professor/judge to translate it for me. If you can read and write, and have any
amount of common sense, it’s not hard to understand. Oh, by the way, it doesn’t
say anything in the Constitution about using international law to determine
validity, legality, or to use as an example for the laws of the United States .
On this
Independence Day, keep in mind what it means. Holidays are a time for
reflection. Where we’ve come from, what we’ve endured as a people, and what we
might have to go through again to restore what we’ve lost. My hope is that we
do not have to repeat our history, but every day I see the powers that be, doing
something else which points us more irreparably towards a violent outcome.
Happy Independence Day
